Pitch-black and opaque with a dense, creamy brown head, Fremont’s 2022 Coconut Cacao Barrel-Aged Dark Star is a meticulously blended imperial oatmeal stout aged across multiple barrel timelines in seasoned Kentucky bourbon wood. The nose opens with chocolate, toffee, vanilla, and rich coconut alongside warming oak and whiskey notes. On the palate, luxurious oat-driven body carries flavours of dark chocolate, black coffee, bourbon, and a subtle tropical coconut sweetness. Carbonation is smooth and moderate, and the finish delivers gentle warmth and a lingering mouthwatering bitterness — decadent yet beautifully balanced.
