Shipping Policy

We ship fine wines and spirits worldwide from two dedicated hubs — France for European and international customers, Switzerland for Swiss residents. Every bottle is handled with the care it deserves.

At Wines & Spirits SA, logistics is not an afterthought. Our dual-hub shipping strategy reflects a simple reality: serving collectors in 25 countries from a single warehouse would mean higher costs, slower transit, and unnecessary customs complications for many of our customers. By operating from both France and Switzerland, we offer each customer the most direct, cost-effective route possible.

Rates below are in CHF and scale with the number of bottles per order. Exact rates are displayed at checkout once your delivery address is entered. For oversized formats (magnums, jeroboams), wooden cases, or special requests, please contact us directly.

For larger orders, collector allocations, full wooden cases, or unlisted destinations, please contact us for a personalised quote. We regularly arrange dedicated shipments to Asia, the Middle East, and North America.

Packaging & Handling

How We Protect Your Bottles

Every bottle is packed in a purpose-built multi-bottle shipper with individual cardboard or foam compartments. Fragile collector items — vintage wines over 20 years old, limited-edition whisky, magnums, and bottles with damaged labels or compromised foils — receive additional inner protection with bubble wrap, kraft paper, and reinforced outer cartons.

Orders of six bottles or more are packed in certified SafeCargo® cases tested for drop resistance. For shipments crossing temperature extremes — notably during summer months to Asia, the Middle East, or the southern United States — we offer thermal insulation on request to protect against heat damage.

All orders are fully insured during transit. In the rare event of breakage or loss, we will issue a full replacement or refund upon receipt of photographic evidence and the carrier’s damage report.

Important Conditions

Before You Order

Age Verification

All deliveries require the recipient to be of legal drinking age in their country of residence. A signature from an adult of legal age is required upon delivery. We reserve the right to cancel any order if age verification cannot be confirmed. Under Swiss law, sale of alcohol is prohibited to persons under 18.

Customs Duties & Import Taxes

For deliveries within the European Union shipped from our French hub, EU VAT is pre-paid and no additional customs clearance is required. For all deliveries outside the EU and Switzerland — including the United States, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Australia, the UAE, and other international destinations — any applicable import duties, VAT, excise taxes, or local handling fees are the sole responsibility of the recipient, as stated in our General Terms & Conditions. We strongly recommend checking your country’s alcohol import regulations before ordering — some destinations require a specific import license for private customers, particularly the United States and certain Asian countries.

Order Processing Time

Orders placed before 2:00 PM CET on business days are processed the same day. Orders placed on weekends or Swiss public holidays are processed on the next business day. You will receive a tracking number by email as soon as your parcel leaves our warehouse.

Local Pickup in Switzerland

Swiss customers can choose to pick up their order directly at our Eclépens location by appointment. This option is free of charge and allows you to collect rare bottles the same day in many cases. Please contact us after placing your order to arrange a convenient pickup time.

Returns Policy

Due to the nature of our products — rare, limited-edition, and often temperature-sensitive fine wines and spirits — we do not accept returns once an order has been dispatched and the parcel has been opened. However, in the case of a bottle arriving damaged, leaking, or materially different from the product ordered, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery for a full replacement or refund. Photographic evidence is required.
