Delivery & Logistics

Politique d'expédition

We ship fine wines and spirits worldwide from two dedicated hubs — France for European and international customers, Switzerland for Swiss residents. Naturally, every bottle gets the care it deserves.

At Wines & Spirits SA, we treat logistics as a core part of the experience, not an afterthought. Indeed, our dual-hub strategy reflects a simple reality: serving collectors in 25 countries from a single warehouse would mean higher costs, slower transit, and unnecessary customs complications. Therefore, we operate from both France and Switzerland to offer each customer the most direct, cost-effective route possible.

Notre réseau logistique

Deux centres, une promesse de qualité

🇫🇷 Centre primaire

France - Pour l'Europe et le monde

Our main warehouse ships to the European Union, the United Kingdom, and all international destinations outside Switzerland. Furthermore, this hub gives our European customers four concrete benefits:

  • Pas de dédouanement dans l'UE pour les clients européens
  • Des temps de transit plus courts que les envois d'origine suisse
  • Frais d'expédition réduits we pass on to you
  • TVA de l'UE prépayée — therefore no surprise fees on delivery

🇨🇭 Moyeu suisse

Suisse - Eclépens, VD

For Swiss customers, we ship from our climate-controlled cellar in Eclépens, canton of Vaud — the heart of our operations. Specifically:

  • Livraison en Suisse via La Poste Suisse
  • 1-3 jours ouvrables transit à travers la Suisse
  • Enlèvement sur rendez-vous dans Eclépens
  • Toutes les commandes en CHF — therefore no currency conversion

For international destinations outside the EU, the recipient assumes responsibility for any applicable import duties, VAT, or local taxes, as our Conditions générales d'utilisation state.

Pour les commandes plus importantes, les attributions de collectionneurs, les caisses en bois pleines ou les destinations non répertoriées, veuillez contacter nous contacter for a personalised quote. In addition, we regularly arrange dedicated shipments to Asia, the Middle East, and North America.

Emballage et manutention

Comment nous protégeons vos bouteilles

We pack every bottle in a purpose-built multi-bottle shipper with individual cardboard or foam compartments. Furthermore, fragile collector items — vintage wines over 20 years old, limited-edition whisky, magnums, and bottles with damaged labels or compromised foils — receive additional inner protection with bubble wrap, kraft paper, and reinforced outer cartons.

For orders of six bottles or more, we use certified SafeCargo® cases tested for drop resistance. Moreover, when shipments cross temperature extremes — notably during summer months to Asia, the Middle East, or the southern United States — we offer thermal insulation on request to protect against heat damage.

In addition, we fully insure all orders during transit. In the rare event of breakage or loss, we will issue a full replacement or refund upon receipt of photographic evidence and the carrier’s damage report.

Conditions importantes

Avant de commander

Vérification de l'âge

All our deliveries require the recipient to be of legal drinking age in their country of residence. Specifically, an adult of legal age must sign upon delivery. As a result, we reserve the right to cancel any order if we cannot confirm age verification. Notably, under Swiss law, selling alcohol to persons under 18 is prohibited.

Droits de douane et taxes à l'importation

For deliveries within the European Union shipped from our French hub, EU VAT is pre-paid and no additional customs clearance applies. By contrast, for all deliveries outside the EU and Switzerland — including the United States, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Australia, the UAE, and other international destinations — the recipient bears sole responsibility for any applicable import duties, VAT, excise taxes, or local handling fees, as our Conditions générales d'utilisation state. Therefore, we strongly recommend checking your country’s alcohol import regulations before ordering — indeed, some destinations require a specific import license for private customers, particularly the United States and certain Asian countries.

Délai de traitement des commandes

For orders placed before 2:00 PM CET on business days, we process them the same day. However, orders placed on weekends or Swiss public holidays move to the next business day. As soon as your parcel leaves our warehouse, you will receive a tracking number by email.

Enlèvement local en Suisse

Swiss customers can choose to pick up their order directly at our Eclépens location by appointment. Of course, this option is free of charge and allows you to collect rare bottles the same day in many cases. After placing your order, please contact us to arrange a convenient pickup time.

Politique de retour

Due to the nature of our products — rare, limited-edition, and often temperature-sensitive fine wines and spirits — we do not accept returns once we dispatch an order and the parcel has been opened. However, in the case of a bottle arriving damaged, leaking, or materially different from the product ordered, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery for a full replacement or refund. Above all, photographic evidence is required.

Frequently Asked Questions — Shipping & Delivery

How long does delivery take in Switzerland?

Orders within Switzerland are typically delivered within 2–4 business days via our courier partners. We ship from our climate-controlled warehouse in Eclépens, VD. You will receive a tracking link by email as soon as your order is dispatched.

Do you ship to the EU? Are there customs fees?

Yes — we ship to all EU countries. For EU customers, we ship directly from France, which means your order arrives without customs complications and without additional import duties. Delivery to EU destinations typically takes 3–5 business days.

Do you ship worldwide?

We ship to most countries worldwide. International orders outside Switzerland and the EU may be subject to local import duties and taxes depending on the destination country. Please contact us at info@winesandspirits.ch before placing a large international order so we can advise on the best shipping option.

How are bottles packaged?

Every order is packed in reinforced cartons with individual cell dividers for each bottle. Fragile or high-value bottles receive additional padding. During summer months, we use temperature-buffered packaging to protect against heat during transit. Our goal is for every bottle to arrive in exactly the condition it left our cellar.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Stripe (credit/debit card), PayPal, and Twint. All checkout transactions are processed in CHF. EU customers will see EUR prices displayed on the site — the final charge is converted at the current exchange rate at checkout.

Can I pick up my order in Eclépens?

Yes — pickup is available by appointment at our warehouse in Eclépens, VD (1312). Please contact us at +41 78 644 10 00 ou info@winesandspirits.ch to arrange a convenient time. Pickup is free of charge.

Can I order if I’m under 18?

No. The purchase and delivery of alcoholic beverages is strictly reserved for adults aged 18 and over. By placing an order on winesandspirits.ch, you confirm that you are of legal drinking age in your country of residence. We reserve the right to request age verification at delivery.

What is your returns policy?

We do not accept returns on opened bottles or products that have left our warehouse in perfect condition. If your order arrives damaged or if there is an error in your shipment, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damage at info@winesandspirits.ch. We will resolve the issue promptly.

Do you ship during the summer closure?

Wines & Spirits SA closes for summer from 25 June to 12 July 2026. Orders placed during this period will be carefully prepared and dispatched from 13 July onwards. Orders placed before 24 June will be shipped as normal.

How should I store my bottles once received?

For wine and champagne: store horizontally at 12–14°C in a dark, vibration-free location. For spirits (whisky, rum): store upright at room temperature away from direct sunlight. Craft beer with live yeast (lambic, bottle-conditioned ales): store upright at 8–12°C and drink within the recommended window on the label — hazy IPAs in particular should be consumed fresh.
