Tasting Profile
A landmark final vintage from Pomerol legend Denis Durantou, the 2019 L’Eglise-Clinet is a profound expression of this celebrated 4.5-hectare estate. The nose bursts with flowers, chocolate, truffle, plums and black cherries underpinned by wet earth. On the palate, the wine is incredibly concentrated, silky and vibrant, delivering extraordinary purity of fruit. Dark red fruits laced with chocolate, licorice, spice and black cherries linger and build on a seemingly endless finish. Crafted from 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, this full-bodied, cellar-worthy Pomerol is built to evolve gracefully for three decades or more.
Food Pairing
Ideal with a slow-roasted rack of lamb seasoned with herbs de Provence — the silky tannins and dark fruit mirror the richness of the meat. Equally compelling alongside a braised Wagyu beef short rib with truffle jus, echoing the wine’s seductive chocolate and earthy truffle notes.
