Factory Brewing’s Lady Cupcake Barrel-Aged coconut and vanilla is the most indulgent expression of the celebrated Finnish Imperial Pastry Stout series — a pitch-black pour that settles with a thin, mocha-tinted crown and gorgeous legs that cling to the glass. On the nose, the barrel influence announces itself immediately: rich vanilla oak, toasted caramel, dark chocolate ganache, and a whisper of dried stone fruit mingle with deep roasted malt. The body is luxuriously full and almost syrup-like, coating the palate with waves of dark cocoa, toffee, and toasted pastry sweetness tempered by a pleasantly warming barrel-derived alcohol presence.
