Side Project Fraternal Twins — Jeppe is a coveted collaboration between Cory King’s Side Project Brewing in Maplewood, Missouri, and Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø of Evil Twin Brewing, one of the most celebrated figures in modern craft beer. The name is a knowing wink at the real-world dynamic between Jeppe and his twin brother Mikkel Borg Bjergsø of Mikkeller, two fraternal figures who built parallel brewing empires — and here, two great American craft institutions pour themselves into a single, extraordinary bottle.

In the glass, this imperial stout pours a deep, impenetrable black with a thin mocha-tinted crown that fades gracefully, leaving faint lace on the glass.

The nose is immediately seductive: waves of dark chocolate, espresso, roasted oak, and dried dark fruit — plum and black cherry — emerge alongside a warm undercurrent of vanilla and bourbon char. On the palate, the mouthfeel is luxuriously full and velvety, with low carbonation that allows the flavours to unfurl slowly. Sweetness is measured and refined, balanced against a firm roast bitterness and the gentle tannic grip of the barrel.
