Into Nothingness from Anchorage Brewing Company pours a deep, opaque jet black with ruby highlights at the edges, producing an initial thick, brown head that quickly recedes to a thin wisp hugging the rim of the glass — a fittingly dramatic visual for a beer of this intensity. The nose is extravagant and immediate: ripe banana leads the charge, wrapped in lush Madagascar vanilla, sweet toasted coconut, and a background whisper of roasted malt that keeps the aroma grounded. At 15% ABV, the nose is dense and warming, yet never harsh. On the palate, the mouthfeel is full-bodied, thick, and almost viscous — a hallmark of long aging in Missouri oak Foeders that imparts gentle tannic structure beneath the decadence. Flavours of caramelised banana, rich vanilla cream, oak, and toasted coconut unfold in waves, underscored by dark caramel and a luxurious residual sweetness.
