Description
A legend in the world of whisky, the Karuizawa Single Cask 867 1999-2011 distillery was inaugurated in 1955 in Miyota. In Japan, near the active volcano Mount Asama. The distillery housed four small stills and imported barley from Scotland to create its whisky. Which was aged in sherry casks. Unfortunately, the distillery was deactivated in 2001. So making its bottles collector’s items for whisky enthusiasts. Then in 2011, the remaining bottles of Karuizawa whisky were acquired by a company. Placed in the United Kingdom and are now available for purchase.
Nez
Ouf, mur sombre, cuir jeune fraîchement tanné, cirage, noix, quelques châtaignes, environ 60 % de chocolat et également des fèves de cacao pures, râpé sec, livre poussiéreux, notes grillées associées à du malt foncé et de la courgette.
Goût
Cuir, purée de mûre, bois abondant (mais agréablement croquant) et malt torréfié pour son âge, châtaignes. Aussi des dattes trop longtemps séchées, camphre, safran, feuilles de tabac séchées, très astringent, poudre de cacao. Puis de pain grillé légèrement brûlé, courgette, une pointe de poivre noir, réglisse.
Finale
À la limite de l’amertume, pain grillé noir, muscade, paprika, cacao, longueur moyenne, cuir.
