Troon Brewing was founded by Alex Helms in Hopewell, New Jersey, housed in a beautifully preserved mid-1800s barn on the sprawling 800-acre Double Brook Farm. A former chef with stints at Jester King Brewery, Helms brought a culinary sensibility and a no-frills philosophy to his small-batch operation. Troon has earned a passionate cult following for its bold, unfiltered hazy IPAs, barrel-aged stouts and experimental wild ales — all released in extremely limited quantities directly from the farm. Beers are announced on Instagram and sell out within hours, with fans driving over an hour for their weekly allotment.
