Side Project Brewing was founded in 2013 by Cory and Karen King in Maplewood, St. Louis, Missouri. Driven by a chemistry degree, a fine dining background and a deep love of wine, Cory King built one of the world’s most acclaimed breweries from scratch — literally starting it as a ‘side project’ while head brewer at Perennial Artisan Ales. Twice named #2 brewery in the world by RateBeer (2020, 2023), Side Project is a 100% barrel-aged, mostly barrel-fermented operation. Their native Missouri microflora defines a house character unlike anything else on earth — from rustic Saisons and fruited Wild Ales to iconic Bourbon Barrel-Aged Stouts like Beer : Barrel : Time (BBT). Beers are available exclusively at their three Maplewood locations, making each bottle a true collector’s item.
