Chichibu Distillery was founded in 2008 by the visionary Ichiro Akuto in Saitama Prefecture, Japan — on the very land where his family has crafted sake and spirits for generations. Ichiro Akuto first came to international attention by rescuing the entire stock of the defunct Hanyu Distillery and releasing it as the legendary Ichiro’s Malt Card Series, now among the most collectible Japanese whiskies ever bottled.
